MIDNIGHT SYNDICATE

NOTE FROM EDWARD DOUGLAS ON THIS ALBUM:

This self-titled debut CD is different from the other Midnight Syndicate releases. When I put together this CD, my goal was not to make an entirely dark, horror-based album (although the tendency was definitely in that direction). Instead, it was an experiment with my cinema of the mind concept (CDs as soundtracks to imaginary films). Along with several dark orchestral instrumental pieces (including earlier versions of several tracks that would appear on later releases), the album also contains goth rock, rap, punk, new age, rockabilly, and even a techno track. The album is not all dark-themed. At times, it is light-hearted, even purposely comical. Regardless, it played a critical role in the development of Midnight Syndicate. The music on this CD and my score to original The Dead Matter film was the basis for Born of the Night and the subsequent releases. This CD is currently out of print and is only available via mailorder while stock remains. As eclectic as the album is, I still look back on it fondly as it was the beginning of Midnight Syndicate and provided me with the opportunity to work with a great group of talented artists.
